Grade 7 Orientation

Moving from elementary school to junior high can be daunting for some students. To facilitate a smooth transition to junior high school, we have planned a Grade 7 Student and Parent Orientation Session on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in Gym A. When you arrive in Gym A, please look for a sign taped to the walls/bleachers that indicates your Homeroom (Class 71, 72, 73, 76 or 77). After brief introductions and comments, your homeroom teacher will meet you and take you on a tour of the school. As you tour the school, our staff will introduce themselves and describe the Grade 7 classes they will teach this year.

At this session, after the school tour, your homeroom teacher will take you to their classroom.  Here, they will be providing some helpful information to make you more comfortable as you begin your junior high school experience. Homeroom teachers will distribute timetables and student handbooks, issue lockers and locks (and give you some time to practice with the locks!). The Orientation Session should conclude by 7:00 p.m.

Please email Mr. Lonnie Hicks ( if you cannot attend this orientation session and would like to schedule an alternative time.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars. We look forward to meeting you!

Classes resume Thursday, August 31

School Fees

Families are invoiced for school fees at the beginning of every school year. Fees are due within 30 days of the invoice date. The simplest, and most convenient, way to pay school fees is by logging in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. There you can view your fees and pay them online using Visa or MasterCard.

If circumstances exist where you are unable to pay your fees, you can apply to have fees waived by submitting an Application for a Waiver of Fees. The 2023-24 fee waiver application deadline is Dec. 15, 2023.

If you’re a parent, or know of a parent, who needs help purchasing school supplies, we can help. EIPS has once again partnered with the United Way for the annual Tools for School campaign. Tools for School in EIPS provides backpacks filled with school supplies to students in kindergarten to Grade 12 whose families have limited resources. When classes resume, the backpacks are respectfully distributed to students who’ve ordered them.
